The best available free agent left in the MLB is by far Prince Fielder. After almost making it to the World Series with the Milwaukee Brewers, it appears he wants to leave. Prince Fielder is right now one of the best power hitter currently playing. Here are his stats from last season:

He is great player for any team that is looking for a power hitter. He can bat at the 3 to 4 spot in your rotation and help bring in players in scoring positions. The players right before and after Fielder in the batting rotation will benefit greatly. The guy with get his chances to hit, Fielder will then get walked and give the guy behind him a chance to bat. He relieves pressure off other guys by providing a strong foundation for the starting part of the batting rotation.

The Teams that are most interested in Prince Fielder is the Washington Nationals and the Texas Rangers. The Nationals desperately need a strong batter to buff up their batting rotation. They are a young team that appears to have a bright future and landing Fielder will give them the prowess they need to improve. On the other side you got the Rangers. The Rangers are pretty packed as a batting team already. You got Hamilton, Cruz, Young, Napoli and Andrus. You add Prince Fielder to the mix and you're talking about the best batting lineup in the MLB.

Ultimately it comes down to what Fielder wants. Both teams need to show the cash and provide a long term contract if they want to lure Prince Fielder to their team.
