Jeremy Lin and the Knicks
The New York Knicks are on a roll right now winning 4 straight games and looking very impressive offensively and defensively. Lots of that can be credited to new found point guard Jeremy Lin who has averaged 28ppg and 8apg in that 4 game period. He has really been a positive influence to this team since he has gotten major minutes to play.
There has been talk that the Knicks need a change and when Amare and Carmelo have gone down with a death in the family and an injury the rest of the team has stepped up. There were three guys that have really picked up the workload, Jeremy Lin, Jared Jeffries and Steve Novak. This team is playing as a team and is having fun doing it. The key has been the point guard Jeremy Lin who is the catalyst for this team. He is the only true point guard that they have on this team that can run the pick and roll. He has made everyone better and has created and setup for others. He scored 38 and dished 8 assists against a very good Lakers team at MSG it was one of the best performances by a player this year. He just makes everyone better around him and puts everyone at their true position and really the biggest weakness for this team has been they have had no one who could set the offense and create for others and the Knicks may have found him.
This new looking Knicks team is all about team and effort and the fans love it. It will be interesting to see how the two superstars play when they get back. I personally feel that Amare loves running pick and roll and with Lin he will become more of the player he was in Phoenix and will be totally comfortable in this new offense. While Carmelo will need to adjust he is more of a one on one kind of player and that requires the ball in his hand and less passing so he will need to learn to adjust to this new style and become more of shooter and slash style of player to keep the ball moving which is when the Knicks play well on offense. These two must bring the effort every night or these fans will be on their case and they maybe out of town very quickly.
